Neck Lift

What is a Neck Lift?

Patients that develop isolated adiposity or skin laxity of the neck without significant aging of the face are good candidates for a neck lift procedure. The procedure removes unwanted fat and skin from the neck, utilizing a limited incision behind the ear. The goal of this procedure is to create a youthful appearing neckline in patients that do not require full rejuvenation of the facial area.

What to Expect:

A neck lift is typically performed under general anesthesia in the operating room. The incisions are well concealed behind the ear and the posterior hairline. Excess skin and fat are removed from the neck area.  The duration of the procedure is 3 hours.

A facelift dressing will be placed after surgery. This dressing will be removed and transition to a light head wrap on day 3. Sutures will be removed on day 7-10.  Swelling and bruising are common in the immediate post-operative period but will improve with time.
